Firebrand MLA of YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja on Tuesday said her party would support the campaign taken up by power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan to mitigate the plight of kidney patients in Uddanam area of Srikakulam.
Reacting to the reports that he would even seek the support of YSR Congress party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to fight for the kidney patients of Uddanam, Roja said the party was ready to cooperate with Jagan in whatever manner he wanted.
However, Roja condemned Pawan Kalyan's statement that the previous governments in Andhra Pradesh had failed to address the issue.
“During the Congress regime in 2004, then Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had ordered for research with a team of doctors from KGH, Visakhapatnam,” she pointed out.
Roja even said that YSR had sent a KGH specialist doctor to an international conference on kidneys at San Francisco, USA to highlight Uddanam kidney diseases in 2007.
“Pawan is trying to project that he was the only person to champion the cause of Uddanam patients and give credit to the Telugu Desam Party government for taking some cosmetic measures,” she said.
