Telangana Cong plans to unite anti-TRS forces

The Telangana Congress party does not want to leave any stone unturned in taking on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the next elections.

While the entry of Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy along with several of his colleagues from the Telugu Desam Party has given much-needed boost to the Congress, the party leadership is trying to take the help of various people’s organisations and social organisations who have been stepping up their attack on the TRS.

It wants to bring all the anti-TRS forces in Telangana under one umbrella.

As part of that the Congress high command has started discussions with smaller Telangana outfits and social organisations, besides joint action committees operating at various levels.

On Wednesday, the high command had discussions with prominent Telangana activists like Cheruku Sudhakar and former MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy and sought their cooperation in building up anti-TRS atmosphere in the state.

The high command is learnt to have promised to give tickets to considerable number of Dalits, OBCs and minorities.

The Congress party would also hold talks with representatives of various JACs, including Telangna JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram.

At present, the party leaders at the state level are keenly participating in the programmes of Kodandaram.

The high command is said to be talking to the Osmania University student leaders to build up the tempo for the party. If necessary, it will also rope in revolutionary singer Gaddar for the discussions to create anti-TRS platform, sources said.
