TDP Leaders 'Celebrate' Death Anniversary!

TDP Leaders 'Celebrate' Death Anniversary!

What does anybody do on the death anniversary of a person close to him? He would pay homage by garlanding the deceased person’s statue or portrait; speak a few words recalling his memories or at the most organize some bhajans.

But what did the Telugu Desam Party leaders and cadre do on the death anniversary of their party founder-president and former chief minister N T Rama Rao on Wednesday? They celebrated NTR’s death!

It might sound strange but that is what they had done on Wednesday at Vinukonda in Guntur district. The TDP leaders organized a big programme in the name of “N T Rama Rao 21st Vardhanthi Vedukalu” (NTR’s 21st death anniversary celebrations). It did not strike them that it should have been a commemoration programme and not celebrations. But, the TDP leaders put up a big stage, arranged speeches and above all, recording dances by girls to the songs of NTR films!

Well, that is the culture of these TDP leaders. When an MP himself can participate in recording dances by holding the hands of women dancers publicly, how can we expect the local TDP leaders to know the difference between commemoration meetings and celebrations?
