Son effect: KCR sidelining DS?

Son effect: KCR sidelining DS?

The jumbo state executive of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi constituted by party president and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday has accommodated every top and middle level leaders.

Most of them who were posted in key positions had either defected from other parties or had opposed the Telangana state formation in the past. Several genuine Telangana activists did not find any place in the state executive.

One of the names whose name was conspicuously missing in the list was that of former minister and Rajya Sabha member D Srinivas. While his colleague K Kesava Rao managed to retain the top post of Secretary General of the TRS, the name of D Srinivas was not seen either in the list of general secretaries or secretaries.

Well, DS is also a defector from the Congress party, of which he was the state president twice in the past. But nobody can deny the fact that he was a hard core Telangana fighter and played instrumental role in getting the CWC resolution passed in favour of Telangana formation. But somehow, KCR has ignored him while forming the party committee.

Reason is obvious. DS’s son Aravind has recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and is playing a very crucial role there. Though DS has denied supporting his son, the TRS leadership seems to have felt that DS had a role in sending Aravind into the BJP and soon, he might follow the suit. And that could be the reason why KCR has ignored DS.

In any case, KCR has to constitute a politburo and political affairs committee shortly. If DS doesn’t find a place in these committees also, one can assumed that his days in the TRS are numbered.
