For the last two days, actress and firebrand YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja is desperately trying hard to prove her loyalty and commitment to the party and its president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, apparently to counter the reports that some of her own party leaders are trying to hold her responsible for the party’s defeat in Nandyal by-elections.
After keeping silent for the whole day on Monday when the election results were declared, Roja has started bombarding her Facebook page with a series of posters and statements declaring her loyalty to the party.
On Tuesday, she declared that she would remain with Jagan till her last breath and in another post, she made it clear that she would stand by the values and principles of the party.
On Wednesday, Roja reiterated that she would not sell her character even if she loses her life.
“Jagananna is my courage, my confidence and my leader. Till my body burns on the pyre, I continue to raise Jai Jagan slogan,” she said.
And she also posted a lengthy explanation about Jagan and his heroic struggle.
“Till now, thousands of followers on my Facebook page, who have nothing to do with politics, might have read in newspapers and seen in television channels that Jagan had amassed a lakh crore rupees and went to jail.
You might have believed these reports, as you are not aware of political games and political debauchery.
You might have come to this opinion because over 18 channels and newspapers, which are supporting Chandrababu Naidu, have poisoned your mind with such reports. But you don’t know even one per cent about Jagan,” she said.
Listing out the positive aspects of Jagan, Roja said Jagan would not go back on his decision, once he takes it. For the sake of YSR followers, he went to the extent of opposing Sonia and went to jail.
“Though you may laught at it, but it is true. Jagan is a man of integrity and non-corrupt because he is the first person in the country to pay advance tax, first politician to pay all his taxes sincerely, a great industrialist who rose to the level of one of the top industrial bigwigs in the shortest possible time; he got the international award for his Bharati Cements,” she said.
Roja also described Jagan as a true and sincere politician who refused to make false promises for the sake of power, a valiant fighter who took up a number of agitations for the sake of people and an intellectual.
She compared him with veteran Communist leader Puchalapalli Sundarayya, who introduced a new culture in assembly debates.
Well, Roja, wish you go up the ladder with your commitment to the party!
