Roads To Be Laid After Sale of Govt Lands?

Telangana Chief Minister KCR made an interesting announcement during his recent tour to the adjoining Medak district.

He says the government will invest in infrastructure development by laying roads and building bridges by selling the government lands in various regions.

Speaking at the review meeting held in Medak, he said that the estimated Rs 24,000 crores will be then used for the purpose.

In the time that he spent there, KCR spoke at length about Medak’s development, roads and various other facilities that people might need, with the local officials.

He also revealed that including remote and far off villages, his government intended to lay double-roads throughout.

He left the people on a happy note by saying that Medak will become a focal point for development.

While all this sounds good, selling away crores worth of government lands to lay roads sounds a bit intriguing.
