Rayapati Submitted Bribe Dossier To Centre?

Rayapati Submitted Bribe Dossier To Centre?

If the reports coming from New Delhi are to be believed, TDP MP from Narsaraopet parliamentary constituency Rayapati Sambasiva Rao has exposed the massive corruption involved in the construction of Polavaram project, which was the prime reason for the delay in construction of the project.

With the Chandrababu Naidu government deciding to cancel the contract given to Transstroy owned by Rayapati for the construction of the Polavaram project, the MP dashed off letters to the Union water resources ministry against Naidu’s decision.

What is more interesting is that he had reportedly met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and submitted him a big dossier along with evidences to show how he had to grease the palms of the people in power in the state right from top to bottom.

“It has resulted in resource crunch that led to the delay in the project works. Naidu has promised to get the cost escalation for the project, but it did not happen because of the strict verification of records by the Centre.

“Rayapati brought all this to the notice of the big bosses in the Centre. He told them that if he was continued, he could cover up the losses to some extent,” sources said.

However, Naidu is firm on cancelling the contract given to Transstroy on the ground that it has failed to stick to the deadline. There are reports that he wants to entrust the works in two different packages to Megha Engineering and the other firm owned by TDP MP C M Ramesh.

The YSRC says the real idea behind the move is to take the matter to legal corridors as the project cannot be completed within the 2018 deadline.

“If the contractor is changed, the earlier company owned by TDP MP will be blacklisted and there is every chance that he moves the court holding up the project indefinitely,’’ YSRC Ongole MP Y V Subba Reddy said.
