Purandareswari who moved from the Congress to the BJP hasn't managed to stake a claim in state BJP leadership.
Though she has been made the BJP Mahila Morcha in-charge, she hasn't managed to play a substantial role in the party.
Purandareswari has been trying to get a firm hold in the party and take on her political rival Chandra Babu Naidu.
However, her efforts haven't worked out as the RSS has vehemently opposed the idea of an outsider heading state BJP. RSS leadership has maintained that Purandareswari can be given a minister's berth at a later date.
It is known that in the past, TDP turned a spoke in the wheel for Purandareswari by creating trouble for her, due to which she had to be content with a last minute seat adjustment.
However, if she intends to win a Lok Sabha seat in 2019, then she will have to begin with identifying a constituency and work towards winning it.
