Recent announcement of Andhra Pradesh State Awards for films for the years 2014, 15 and 16 proved that ‘influence’ wins over ‘talent’ and the ‘undeserved’ people and films have the last laugh.
While this kicked off a huge storm in and out of Telugu film industry, public is feeling that Nandi Awards should be scrapped after getting exposed to this level.
Nandi Awards used to be the most prestigious awards for Telugu cinema. Of late only influential people and the ones who do heavy lobbying are able to bag Nandis while the deserving candidates are just laughing it off.
When the government itself cannot be unbiased about such prestigious awards then it is pointless to continue giving those awards, is what public opines.
