After YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy made a mincemeat of the ruling Telugu Desam Party in the state assembly over the illegal purchase of assets belonging to Agri Gold group victims at throw away prices, power star Pawan Kalyan has entered the scene.
On Thursday, Pawan Kalyan has announced that he would interact with the victims of Agri Gold who have been on strike in Vijayawada seeking justice. He will meet the victims at Tummalapalli Kalaksetram and raise his voice for their cause.
The AgriGold issue has stalled the Assembly for two days with the ruling and the opposition parties trading challenges against each other.
The government has announced relief measures to the families of those who have committed suicide and assured that it has left no stone unturned to do justice to the victims.
However, the opposition YSRC has levelled charges on involvement of the TD leaders in the sale of AgriGold assets.
At this stage the entry of Pawan Kalyan to take up the victims’ cause is being viewed as an attempt by TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to neutralise the impact of Jagan.
There is already a perception that whenever Pawan takes up an issue, Naidu will take swift action and solve it. So, the victims are hoping that their issues will be addressed by the government as was done in the case of Uddanam kidney victims, capital farmers and weavers’ issues.
