Nandyal Effect: BJP To Sail With TDP!

The outcome of the Nandyal by-elections has laid to rest all the speculations doing rounds in the political and media circles about the possibility of the Bharatiya Janata Party deserting the Telugu Desam Party and joining hands with the YSR Congress party before 2019 elections.

There were reports that the BJP was keenly watching the Nandyal by-elections and since, there were bright chances for the YSR Congress party to win the seat, there would realignment of political forces after the polls. However, the victory of the TDP has put an end to such reports.

Indications are that the BJP will continue to sail with the TDP in 2019 too. It was evident from the tweet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday immediately after the Nandyal by-election result was announced.

“Congratulations to Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy Garu and our valued NDA ally TDP for the big victory in the Nandyal by-poll. @ncbn.”

So, with Modi himself declaring the TDP as the valued ally of the NDA, there is no way the BJP leadership will sever alliance with the TDP in Andhra!
