Naidu Worried Over Party's Poor Show!

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu might be putting up a brave front over his party’s prospects in the next elections, but the internal surveys conducted by his intelligence teams seem to be causing a lot of anxiety to him.

According to party sources, the reports obtained by Naidu over the progress of Intintiki Telugu Desam programme indicated that the response from the people was very poor in majority assembly constituencies.

It could be due to losing confidence among the people towards his government or lack of interest in the party leaders and cadre in the programme itself.

Depending on the people’s response to the programme, Naidu has classified the constituencies into four grades: A, B, C, and D.

Alarmingly, only 40 constituencies figured in Grade A and another 20 constituencies in Grade B, where there is a possibility of win.

In the remaining constituencies with C and D grades, the people’s response is poor and so, the party has least chances of winning.

In a way, Naidu feels it is good to get the reports. He can now identify the weak constituencies and start the damaging control exercise from now itself.

He told the MLAs of these constituencies to perform or lose hope on getting the party tickets again. He has already started identifying the alternative leadership in these constituencies, say party sources.
