Naidu To Turn A Lecturer, For A Change!

For a change, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will turn a lecturer. Not for any college students, but for the IAS officers.

The chief minister is going to address Indian Administrative Service officers at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie on Monday, as part of the mid-career training programme for serving IAS officers. About 100 IAS officers belonging to 1983-1990 batches from the across the country will take part.

Though it is not uncommon for Naidu to give lengthy lectures to IAS offices at Collectors’ conference, it is an experience for him to take a class for the IAS officers from all states. Apparently, it is not a written speech, but he has to take a real class for the bureaucrats. It does mean, he has to speak ex tempore and enlighten the officials.

If Naidu is able to deliver an effective lecture, it is well and good, but if he speaks bad English, it won’t send a good message. He is expected to teach the officials on the real-time governance, implementation of monitoring of developmental programmes through e-Pragati scheme and explain the other best practices being followed in the state.

Hopefully, the officials have given him sufficient briefing on what to speak at the training programme. In any case, Chief Minister’s special chief secretary Satish Chandra is one of the officers from the AP taking part in the mid-career training this time.
