Naidu mentally prepared for break-up with BJP?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu appears to have got an indication that the Bharatiya Janata Party is planning to say “Ram-Ram” to the alliance with his party in the next elections.

And he is said to be mentally prepared for the same. Precisely for this reason, he is sharpening his weapons to attack the BJP and question the Centre for the inordinate delay in granting special financial package to the Andhra Pradesh as promised in lieu of special category status. If necessary, Naidu might even take up the battle for special category status as well.

It is evident from the way Andhra Jyothy, a virtual mouthpiece of the TDP, has been writing a series of stories questioning the Centre’s indifferent attitude towards the state.

First, it started with an interview with 14th finance commission member who said the commission had not closed the chapter of special category status to AP and if the Centre wants, it could as well give it.

Secondly, it carried a big story “AP: All Pending” – explaining in detail how the Centre was deliberately delaying giving clearances to the projects proposed by the state and releasing funds to the approved projects.

In the assembly, too, the TDP MLAs tried to snub BJP member P Vishnu Kumar Raju, who sought to question Naidu for not implementing the pre-poll promises.

They countered Raju saying why the BJP member did not ask the Centre for not implementing the promised made in the bifurcation act including special category status.

It clearly shows the TDP is getting ready to part ways with the BJP, if such a situation arises. May it is also a sort of pressure tactics by Naidu to rein in the BJP!
