Naidu Fears Revolt After Cabinet Reshuffle?

Naidu Fears Revolt After Cabinet Reshuffle?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has hinted that he would take up cabinet reshuffle soon to induct his son Lokesh Babu, seems to be afraid of doing it now.

Reason: Naidu fears there might be large scale revolt from the party MLAs who are aspiring for cabinet berths and that might lead to exodus into the rival YSR Congress party.

Especially, the TDP loyalists are very hopeful that they would get the opportunity, but the TDP chief will be compelled to accommodate at least a couple of defectors from the YSR Congress party because he had promised them cabinet berths during the Operation Akarsh.

Already, there has been a virtual cold war between the TDP leaders and defectors from YSRC at the constituency level and if the latter get the opportunities in the cabinet, the cold war would erupt in the open.

Though Naidu has been holding district level review meetings for the last few days and warning the party leaders against indulging in groupism, he fears that there is bound to be revolt in several constituencies.

Several party leaders are said to be threatening to desert TDP and join YSRCP, if they are not inducted into the cabinet. And Naidu fears it would be definitely cashed in on by YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

That is precisely the reason why Naidu has been postponing the cabinet reshuffle on one pretext or the other, say sources.
