Naidu Elated, Akhila On Cloud Nine!

The outcome of the by-election to Nandyal assembly seat brought the much needed relief to Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who feared that the downfall for his party would begin if it loses the by-poll.

Naturally, the TDP cadre celebrated the victory by bursting crackers and distributing sweets. And Naidu said people had again shown confidence and trust in development, welfare and good governance.

“Voters have rejected the vicious and hate speech politics. Muslims along with all sections voted for TDP in large numbers,” he said.

Stating that his government would continue the development and welfare activities, the chief minister expressed confidence that similar results would be witnessed in future also.

Not only for Naidu, but the Nandyal bypoll outcome is definitely a moral victory for Bhuma Nagireddy’s daughter and AP Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, who is now on cloud nine for retaining her hold in the constituency. She said she had expected result.

“We were confident of victory right from the beginning. We thank people of Nandyal for reposing faith on the ruling party. It's vote for development taken up by Chandrababu Naidu government,” she said.

Defeated YSRC candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy said it was the victory of money power.

“The TDP leadership pumped in money to lure voters. Besides, there is a sympathy factor in favour of Bhuma family. Nevertheless, I respect the people's verdict,” he said.
