Now that he has completely lost hope on the Governor post, senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former minister Mothkupalli Narasimhulu is now eyeing Rajya Sabha seat.
Mothkupalli on Tuesday said he was terribly disappointed with the denial of Governor post by the NDA government. “We have waited for three years hoping that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would concede our request for the Governor post. But he has turned a Nelson’s eye. It was a big disappointment for me and my family members. They were in tears after they did not find my name in the list of Governors appointed recently. We did not even celebrate Dasara festival,” he told a television channel.
He, however, said he had complete faith in party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. “I am sure he will do justice for me by considering my name for the Rajya Sabha MP seat keeping in view my services to the party and his leadership for several decades,” Mothkupalli said.
The senior TDP leader said there was a need to strengthen the party in Telangana by completely overhauling it. “If necessary, we can have alliance with the TRS as well, but not the Congress party,” he said.
