KCR Should Disclose Asset Before Survey

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has asked Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members to set an example by disclosing their properties and bank details, before the proposed household survey is launched on August 19.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, TDP deputy floor leader in Telangana Assembly Revanth Reddy said the Telangana government’s decision to conduct a survey had invited widespread criticism and had sparked a debate.

Hidden agenda
The government had promised that the survey was intended to identify resources available to develop the State. But, the Chief Minister was acting diametrically opposite to what he had claimed.

The government had a hidden agenda behind the survey, he alleged.

The Union government has already spent Rs. 3,500 crore on the Aadhaar cards project, and it has completed only 60 to 70 per cent so far. How is it possible then for the Telangana government to complete the survey of 4 crore people and 1 crore families in a day, he wondered, asking what action would he take against his PRO who had said that the survey was meant to oust Andhra employees and students.

The Chief Minister had forgotten the Mahabubnagar district which gave political identity to him.

Migration issues
Around 13 lakh people were migrant labourers and working in Mumbai, gulf countries. But, the government was not interested in collecting their details and was trying to give an impression that migrations from Mahabubnagar district had come down, he added.
