It looks like Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is silently sidelining his nephew and irrigation minister T Harish Rao and eventually planning to get rid of him.
According to party sources, KCR is understood to have got specific intelligence input that it was Harish Rao who had played behind the screen role in maligning his (KCR’s) son K T Rama Rao in the attack on Dalits and OBCs in Nerella in connection with the sand lorry burning cases.
Harish reportedly leaked the news to media about the sand mafia having the alleged support of KTR.
This has angered KCR. Moreover, he also did not like the way Harish Rao was hogging all the media limelight on the irrigation projects. That is precisely why he made his loyalist Etela Rajender as the in-charge of the “Pochampadu Punarujjeeva Sabha,” a public meeting at Karimnagar to focus on the revival of Sriramsagar project.
Normally, for such meetings, the responsibility will be entrusted to Harish Rao. Moreover, this particular one is about revival of an irrigation project. But KCR kept Harish Rao at bay and asked Etela to take charge of the meeting.
“It clearly shows, KCR is gradually sidelining Harish,” party sources said.
