On every Ugadi day, it is quite common for the government as well as the Opposition parties to organise Panchanga Sravanam (Listening to Almanac) programmes.
They call Vedic pundits who predict what is in store for the people in general, rulers and leaders in particular in the coming months. However, no leader or ruler takes those predictions seriously after Ugadi.
On the Ugadi day this year, Vedic pundit from Sringeri Peetham read out the panchangam for the TRS government at Ravindra Bharati.
While predicting a bright year for KCR, he also sounded a note of caution: that the government would have to face troubles in two fields – healthcare and education.
Speaking after the Panchanga Sravanam, KCR pointed out to Health Minister Dr Lakshma Reddy and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari and said they should be careful in handling their departments; otherwise, they would be in deep trouble. Both the ministers were a bit disappointed with the predictions, but they forgot about the same later.
However, the predictions seem to have come true now. The leakage of EAMCET-2 question paper has landed both the ministers in trouble. They are now trying to throw blame on each other for the scam. In any case, KCR panchangam has caused a big embarrassment for Kadiyam and Lakshma Reddy!
