Former Congress Minister from Guntur Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, who had jumped into the Bharatiya Janata Party after 2014, is said to be toying with the idea of defecting to the YSR Congress party sooner or later.
According to sources, Kanna is feeling suffocated in the BJP as he has neither post nor position there. Moreover, the BJP has been playing second fiddle to the Telugu Desam Party which Kanna hates to the core of his heart. And there is no chance of the BJP breaking its alliance with the TDP in the near future.
At the same time, Kanna has realised that there is no way the BJP can grow as a major force in Andhra Pradesh and as long as it continues to be an alliance partner of the TDP, he cannot get any major post and grow politically.
And he has sensed that the YSR Congress party is picking up its strength and there is every chance that it can come to power in the next elections. So, the best way is to choose a winning party rather than struggling in the party which has no future.
In fact, he made futile attempt to join YSRCP even before 2014 polls, but somehow he chose the BJP. Now, YSRC chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy also responded positively to admit him into the party and also is ready to offer Guntur-2 assembly seat, from where he had won in 2009 polls.
