Is Telangana Land Procurement Better Than AP's?

On one hand, there is on-going controversy regarding land procurement by the Andhra Pradesh government and it has been facing a lot of flak thanks to the decision.

Now, the Telangana government has also announced that it would procure land and sell it for infrastructural purposes.

But the T government has gone a step ahead and is planning to release the appropriate guidelines before taking up the actual task.

For starters, they will be giving prominence to various issues that would pop up eventually like the compensation for land taken, social impact, rehabilitation and various other important points.

But the most interesting point is that the government has planned to include a clause which says that if the acquired land is not used for said purposes, then it would be returned to the farmers or land owners.

The government is also planning to take the opinions of those who are likely to be displaced and those living in the area before going ahead. They are also imposing a guideline which says that no private firm can individually own more than 2000 acres.
