The reports that US President Donald Trump’s daughter and advisor Ivanca Trump is coming to Hyderabad to take part in the Global Entrepreneurs Conference along with a US business delegation has generated a lot of euphoria in the Telangana government.
Though the TRS government has nothing to do with the conference, because it is being held by the Government of India in association with the US government, the TRS is trying to take advantage of it, because the Centre has chosen Hyderabad has its venue.
However, the Telugu Desam Party leaders are also trying to give the credit to their boss and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for Ivanca’s visit. Their argument is the Centre and the US have chosen Hyderabad for the conference is only because the city has got the global recognition as the emerging IT hub and fastest developing city.
And who is responsible for making Hyderabad an IT hub? According to Telangana TDP president L Ramana, it was Chandrababu Naidu who had made a lot of efforts to put Hyderabad on the global map.
“His vision and foresight was responsible for the development of Hyderabad as a global city. If Ivanka is coming to India, the credit should go only to Chandrababu Naidu,” he argued.
What do you call it, if not height of sycophancy? Well, Naidu might get a competitor soon in evangelist K A Paul, who has claimed that it was he who was responsible for the election of Donald Trump as the US president.
So, the credit for Ivanca’s visit to Hyderabad should also go to Paul!
