Gutha To Become Scapegoat In KCR Plan?

Gutha To Become Scapegoat In KCR Plan?

Popular Telugu daily Andhra Jyothy came up with a spicy speculative political story on Tuesday on how Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to follow the Nandyal experiment of his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu to get a favourable political climate in the state for the next elections.

According to this report, the outcome of the recent Nandyal by-elections has brought a lot of political mileage to Telugu Desam Party in general and Naidu in particular and erased the so-called anti-establishment sentiment in AP. It gave a lot of confidence to Naidu to take on the YSR Congress party in the next elections.

Taking the Nandyal experiment, KCR also wants to create a favourable political atmosphere for the TRS in the next elections by going in for a by-election.

Accordingly, the TRS chief picked up Nalgonda parliamentary seat for the experiment. He will force sitting MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy resign from his seat and hold by-elections there. If the TRS wins, which KCR is hopeful of, it will fetch a lot of mileage to the TRS and a message will be sent across the entire state that people still favour the TRS.

But why should Gutha resign? There is an answer for it. At present, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan is keenly going through the petition by the opposition parties seeking disqualification of MPs who defected to the ruling parties. And there is a possibility that she might disqualify the defected MPs.

If it happens, Gutha will have to quit, as he had defected from the Congress to the TRS. So, before the disqualification is done, KCR might plan to ask Gutha to quit and go for the by-elections. If his party wins the polls, it would bring a lot of mileage to KCR, sources said.
