These days, politics has lost decency and decorum and has been reduced to personal attacks, rather than on policy matters.
Leaders of both the ruling and the opposition parties are crossing all limits of decency and going to the most vulgar levels, even dragging the wives of their leaders.
The other day, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s sister Y S Sharmila gave a powerful speech at the party’s plenary held at Amaravati.
While most of her speech was very much aggressive and polite, she crossed the limits when it came to attacking TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu.
She said she was feeling sorry for Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari for “bearing” such husband just for the sake of her “mangala sutram.”
“We have to salute to the patience of Bhuvaneshwari for tolerating her husband, though he had stabbed her father N T Rama Rao in the back and usurped power, which finally led to NTR’s death,” she said.
Without losing much time, the TDP leaders retorted to her comments, taking the allegations to the next level.
Minister for Law and Youth affairs Kollu Ravindra said Sharmila should first find out how her sister-in-law Bharati was spending her married life with Jagan who was in jail for 18 months.
