KCR has quoted the AP Reorganization Act in requesting the Union Government for assistance.
When the Vice-Chairman of Niti Aayog called on him at camp office, KCR asked the Centre to release funds for the development of backward districts in Telangana as promised in the AP Re-Org Act.
That he completely ignores the Act when it confer s any advantage to AP at the expense of Telangana, is a different matter.
But it is unlikely that the Center will release any amount for Telangana at this juncture.
KCR has himself admitted that Telangana is the only state in the country after Gujarat to have a surplus budget.
How can the Center give assistance to rich states when there are many other states with a huge revenue deficit?
If KCR were to redirect the money he is spending on his caravans and camp office beautifications to the development of the backward regions, he will not need any central assistance.
