If YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja represents the uglier face of her party with her abusive comments, then Telugu Desam Party MLA Bonda Umamaheshwar Rao is no less ugly for his party.
He does not lose any opportunity to run down Roja, but can get away with it because he is in the ruling party. Neither his boss Chandrababu Naidu nor Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao will not bother to take action against this filthy-mouthed politician.
Participating in a television debate on Friday, Bonda tried to project Roja in a bad light for saying that the Supreme Court had not asked her to apologise to Naidu or Dalit MLA Anitha in the House but had asked her only to give her explanation.
In fact, Roja had already apologised to Anitha and taken back her words before the Privileges Committee.
But Bonda is not convinced. He said Roja cannot get away by writing a letter to the Speaker, as suggested by the Supreme Court, expressing regrets for her comments.
“She has to wash the feet of Anitha, prostrate before her and tender unconditional apology,” he said.
This is extreme, boss. You cannot run down a legislator like that. Leave it to Roja, who has to follow the Supreme Court order. If she doesn’t, the court will take care of how to deal with her. Why should Bonda go to such an extreme?
