After Tirupati, Yadagirigutta to go Vatican way!

The temple town of Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy will be developed like Vatican City and on par with the standards of Tirupati with autonomous powers, besides setting up a Hanuman statue – the biggest in India, according to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

In a high level review meeting, the CM directed the officials to prepare a comprehensive plan of action for transforming the temple a la Vatican City.

Appointing G Kishen Rao, IAS, as special officer of the project, the CM asked that the temple cover should be coated with gold by increasing its height.

The Government will make use of 2,000 acres of land to transform Yadagirigutta with an enticing Kalyana Mandapam, Vedic and Sanskrit schools, greenery and fragrant trees, lawns, landscaping, big buildings to provide accommodation to pilgrims and other development activities, he said.

The government would discourage private buildings near the temple premises, the CM said.

KCR said the temple area will be connected with Regional Ring Road being planned to build beyond Outer Ring Road. As part of the project, the nearby hillocks and lakes and water bodies will be developed into tourist spots, he added.
