After record dances, TDP MP promotes gambling!

Telugu Desam Party MP from Eluru Maganti Venkateshwar Rao alias Babu is a flamboyant leader and he loves to enjoy his life, irrespective of the fact that his actions would trigger a lot of controversies. And he cares a damn for his critics, even from his own party.

Last year, Maganti hit the headlines for wrong reasons: he encouraged recording dances on stage in public on the occasion of Dasara festivities.

He joined the dancers on the stage and shook a leg or two. That evoked a lot of criticism from his rivals but he said he loved to enjoy the life.

In the latest controversy, Maganti gave an open call to his party workers and followers to enjoy the festival season by playing cards, which is gambling as per the government rules.

He told his followers that they could play cards if they want and they did not have to bother about the officials or the police, who find fault with them.

The MP also asked the police not to arrest his party activists and force him to come to the police station. His comments drew criticism from opposition parties and common people too.

He pointed out that Chinthapudi village was known and famous for playing cards and even said that there are some expert players in his constituency.

Can his boss Chandrababu Naidu take any action against this blatant violation of law?
