A Man Of Contradictions!

A Man Of Contradictions!

The State is no position to pay the salaries of its employees for the month of January. That’s what Chandrababu Naidu said.

Whenever Telangana points the finger at Babu for depriving them of power, Babu was quick to retort that AP was having 24/7 power owing to his foresight whereas Telangana did not prepare in advance. That seems like a pretty logical response.

But why did Babu not exercise the same foresight when it came to the issue of AP’s finances?

Knowing fully well that he was going to be at the helm of a revenue- deficit administration, why did Babu not embark on a precautionary policy instead of going on a spending spree?

On what ground can Naidu justify his populist scheme like ‘Chandranna Sankranthi Pathakam’, a scheme with absolutely no long term lasting value and which cost the exchequer Rs 300 crore?

Another decision of Babu is truly baffling! He reportedly cleared arrears to industrialists due from the State to the tune of Rs 1500 crore in one go!

When finances are in such disarray, why did he need to clear such a huge debt in one single payment? The usual practice is to phase out the payments over a period of time! His decision to go in for the construction of a temporary capital at Mangalagiri also defies common sense in the wake of availability of a large number of government offices in Vijayawada and surrounding places.

In Davos, Babu is peaking of green development whereas back home he is doing the exact opposite of that which is to usurp thousands of acres of fertile agricultural land for the new capital.

He is not at all bothered about the ecological imbalance this would create and has chosen to go against the recommendations of the ‘Sivaramakrishnan Committee’ which was against the setting up of the new capital in ‘Thulluru’ region. If Babu had no intention of honoring the opinion of this committee, why did he set it up in the first place?

Naidu vehemently opposed the rule of the Congress at the Center calling it a ‘family rule’. Today, in his absence, his son, Lokesh who is neither an MLA nor an MP is presiding over the meetings of the Cabinet.

With Babu, you can be sure of one thing! He is definitely not a person who walks the talk!
