Vegesna Foundation Fund Raising Event Success In LA

With support from Telugu association of Southern California (TASC), Vegesna Foundation of Hyderabad, has conducted a live musical event on this Saturday, Nov 30th, at Irvine Mandir in Irvine, CA.

Event was successful as people with great taste for music, and great soul for helping for cause has attended it. Mani Sastry a popular singer from Houston, TX, along with Revathi of Nashville, Balakameswara Rao of Hyderabad and Krishna Prasad of Hyderabad, were the singers of the evening.

World renowned kuchipudi dance artiste Smt. Sumati Koushal, popular movie heroine Laya, a long standing donor for Vegesna Smt. Shaila Rao has inaugurated the event through lamp lighting. Singers have performed to great, melodious and popular numbers from Telugu and Hindi movies. As the theme of the event says to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema, the musical event truly was representing that with old and new hit songs from Tollywood and Bollywood.

The main objective of the event was to raise funds to support the charitable events that the Vegesna organization is conducting to provide support to differently abled children.  Southern California  telugu community has supported this cause through their generous donations.

TASC Advisory council Vice chair Dr. Nakka Srinivas expressed sincere appreciation for TASC Executive committee for providing support to such a noble cause. He also supported the event through his generous donation of $2000.

TASC BOT Vice Chair Dharma Reddy Gummadi $500 President Nagesh paid the rent of the auditorium adopted 2 kids Smt Laya 1,000 Aruna Reddy 1000 Prasad Rani 501 Sumathi Kaushal 1000 Shailaja Rao 1000 Sudhir Kota and Veera Reddy Nandyala donated and supported the cause and raised about 15k and which is a 2nd highest amount raised in US in this trip.Dr Vamsee praised the President and TASC  for supporting this case after 2007 under the TASC Presidency of Anil Arraballi.

Vegesna foundation managing trustee Sri Ramaraju said, youth should also get involved in such socially responsible causes and to promote such engagement from youth, he has now instilled an award. He announced that the first award for this year “Seva Ratna” was conferred on TASC President Sri. Nagesh . The award will be given to him in a felicitation ceremony in Hyderabad, India. Sri Raju also has invited all TASC members to attend Vamsi Berkley events in Hyderabad, if anyone happens to be in the city during those events. Sri Ramaraju, Smt., Sumati Kaushal, Smt Laya together has felicitated Nageswara Rao  for his support in making this event successful.

Honoring guests is our custom, and TASC has performed that by felicitating the guests through prominent members from the audience that includes Dr. Nakka Srinivas, Dr. Radha Sharma, Smt., Sumati Kaushal, Smt. Laya, Priya, Subhadra, Radhika and Sobha. They have honored the guests through shawl, memento and a flower bouquet.

The event was concluded with vote of thanks from president elect Prasad Rani. He has expressed sincere thanks to, Sham Appali for providing sound engineer services, Srinivas Pang and Veerababu for photo coverage, to Jaya and Rambabu for providing hot tea to guests, to Ram Koditala, Om Prakash, Srinivas Rani for support where needed, and to the female volunteers, Priya, Subhadra, Haritha, Seeta, Shobha, Radhika for all the help from stage decoration to taking care of guests needs. Prasad also thanked Radhakrishna and Vijaya of Dosa place for sponsoring food for the event.

Most members who attended the event expressed sincere satisfaction for a soul satisfying event, which served as a grand culmination to this year's TASC events, and also would serve as great curtain raiser for the upcoming year of more exciting events in 2014.
