F1 VISA Students in Trouble - ACICS Accreditation!!

On Dec. 12, 2016, the U.S. Department of Education announced that it no longer recognizes the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) as an accrediting agency.

This decision affects more than 250 Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certified schools and programs that are accredited by ACICS in the United States.

F-1 students (International) must take immediate action if they are attending any of the below-listed schools, as they will not be eligible for OPT extension in the future.

Here is the list of few ACICS accredited schools that are affected due to this announcement:
1. American College of Commerce and Technology (ACCT)
2. American National University
3. Stratford University
4. Virginia International University (VIU)
5. Colorado heights University
6. IGlobal University
7. Northwestern Polytechnic University (NPU)
8. Schiller International University
9. Bristol University
10. California Miramar University
11. CalUMS
12. Coleman University
13. Herguan University
14. Lincoln University
15. Pacific States University
16. Silicon Valley University (SVU)
17. Southern States University
along with 200+ more Universities/Schools/Colleges...
