A printed note inside a cab in Hyderabad has gone viral, sparking a wider debate online about how drivers and passengers should behave with each other.
The image, shared on social media platform X by a user named Aman, shows a detailed list of instructions put up by the cab driver for passengers.
The note starts by reminding passengers that they are not the owners of the cab and that the driver owns the vehicle. It then lists basic etiquette rules, asking riders to speak politely, respect the driver, and close the door gently.
The driver also mentions that paying for a ride does not give anyone the right to behave rudely.
It further addresses fare-related issues, telling passengers not to act as if they are paying extra. One point that caught attention was the driver’s request not to address him as “bhaiya,” indicating a preference for a different form of address.
The note also highlights safety and discipline. Passengers are advised not to ask the driver to speed and to be on time instead. It also clearly states that the cab is not a private space, warning against romantic behaviour and asking passengers to maintain distance and behave properly.
The post quickly gained traction online, drawing mixed reactions. Some users criticised the tone of the message, saying that customers also deserve respect. Others supported the driver, arguing that he has the right to set rules in his own vehicle.
Many also pointed out that such messages reflect the growing frustration among drivers, who often deal with difficult passengers, long working hours, and pressure from ride-hailing platforms.
