Bhageerath, the son of BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar, is now at the center of a major controversy after being named in a POCSO case involving allegations of misconduct with a minor girl.
Until now, Bhageerath was largely known in public only because of his political family background. However, the case has suddenly pushed him into the spotlight for troubling reasons.
Bhageerath has denied the allegations and filed a counter complaint. According to his statement, he had known the girl’s family for quite some time and trusted them.
He alleged that they later began blackmailing him in the name of forcing a marriage proposal involving their daughter.
As per some reports, he further claimed in his complaint that the family demanded Rs 5 crore and that, out of fear, he had already paid Rs 50,000.
Amidst this scenario, an old video shared by filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has resurfaced online and is now drawing fresh attention.
The video, reportedly around three years old, allegedly shows Bhageerath displaying aggressive and rowdy behavior, beating a person using filthy language.
Many people on social media are questioning how someone seen behaving in such a manner could claim to have been frightened or pressured.
Though the video is old, it may now strengthen the arguments of the girl’s family by presenting what they describe as his aggressive nature and public conduct.
Keeping all that aside, Bandi Sanjay Kumar is now trying to bring in the BC card into the controversy.
Many people are questioning how a powerful politician can attempt to project himself as a victim in a serious POCSO case.
Critics argue that instead of politicizing the issue or seeking public sympathy, he should either correct and guide his son or allow the legal process to continue without interference, if he is a true leader.
