AMB Cinemas, a collaborative theatre business with Mahesh Babu and Asian Group, which proved to be highly successful in Hyderabad, has also been set up in Bengaluru.

However, unlike its Hyderabad counterpart, the Bengaluru venture is facing significant challenges.

One of the biggest drawbacks is its location in the Majestic area, which is known for heavy congestion, an older city layout, and dense population. The constant traffic and limited maneuverability make it inconvenient for visitors.

In contrast, the Hyderabad location benefited greatly from a premium setting that enhanced its perception and appeal. The Bengaluru theatre, however, has struggled to replicate that experience.

Adding to the issue, there have been no major big-ticket film releases to draw consistent crowds.

As a result, the theatre complex is incurring heavy operational expenses while generating insufficient revenue.

Reports suggest that the complex is running at a loss every month, leading promoters to view it as a financial burden.

For sustainability, the theatre requires strong, crowd-pulling content for at least half the year to break even and generate profits.

Otherwise, maintaining such a large multiplex in this location may continue to strain the promoters financially.
