Karthi enjoys strong popularity in the Telugu states and remains one of the few Tamil stars who has consistently worked towards expanding his market in Tollywood.
Fluent in Telugu, Karthi also actively participates in promotions for his dubbed releases, helping him build a loyal audience base over the years.
With successful films like “Awara,” “Yuganiki Okkadu,” and “Khaidi,” he has carved out a solid market in Telugu cinema. He also starred in the straight Telugu film “Oopiri” alongside Nagarjuna.
Now, Karthi is gearing up for two straight Telugu films back-to-back. He has reportedly signed a project with director Kalyan Shankar, known for “Mad” and “Mad Square.”
Meenakshi Chaudhary will play the female lead, while producer Naga Vamsi is backing the project. The film’s pooja ceremony was recently held quietly.
Apart from this, Karthi has also agreed to headline the fourth installment in the “HIT” franchise. He made a brief appearance towards the end of “HIT 3,” hinting at a full-fledged cop role in the upcoming sequel.
