Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam saga has returned with its third instalment, Drishyam: The Conclusion, which hit theatres on October 2 after generating massive buzz through advance bookings.
The final chapter in the franchise has received largely positive reviews, and strong word-of-mouth appears to have helped the film register a huge opening at the box office.
On Day 1, Drishyam 3: The Conclusion collected ₹66.75 crore net in India across 15,735 shows. Its India gross stood at ₹80.10 crore.
Overseas, the film grossed around ₹15 crore, taking its worldwide Day 1 total to approximately ₹95.10 crore.
Trade expectations for Drishyam: The Conclusion were already high before release. Early estimates suggested an opening in the ₹25-30 crore range, but those projections were revised upwards as advance bookings gathered momentum.
The film also recorded a strong pace on BookMyShow. At one point on Friday afternoon, Drishyam 3 reportedly peaked at around 70,000 tickets sold per hour, higher than the 68,000 tickets per hour recorded by Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan in 2023.
The film has emerged as one of the biggest Hindi openers of the year. Its opening has also surpassed several other major releases, including Border 2, Mirzapur The Movie and Awarapan 2.
It has also crossed the opening-day collection of older blockbusters such as Sultan, which had opened at around ₹36 crore.
The third instalment brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant.
Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Saurabh Shukla are among the new additions to the cast.
Written and directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam: The Conclusion was released in theatres on October 2, 2026.
