At least two people were killed and three others injured after a shooting at a shopping mall in Texas on Tuesday, according to police.

The incident took place at K Towne Plaza in Carrollton, located about 20 miles north of Dallas. Authorities said the attacker opened fire on five individuals before being arrested following a brief foot chase.

Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo stated that the shooting was not random. “The victims knew the suspect. We believe there was some kind of business relationship involved,” he said, adding that the exact reason for the meeting is still under investigation.

Videos circulating online showed armed officers moving through the mall premises, while multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, were present at the scene.

K Towne Plaza is located in an area known as Koreatown, which has developed over the years into a vibrant hub with Korean businesses, restaurants, and cultural institutions. Carrollton is home to over 4,000 residents of Korean origin, according to official data.

Police have not yet released further details about the motive, and the investigation is ongoing.
