Robin Singh 'Meet and Greet event'

Robin Singh Cricket foundation and Sandeep entertainments hosted a grand function at Payal Banquet hall in honour of Robin Singh visit to Toronto.

Robin Singh played for India as very hard working and dedicated cricket player and after his playing stint Robin took up coaching assignment and went on to Become Fielding Coach of India. Currently, he coaches Mumbai Indians in IPL. Robin Singh has led them to runners up position during the 2010 IPL season,  Winners of 2011 Champions League Twenty20 and Winners of 2013 IPL season. He also coaches USA Under-19 and Senior squads.

Arun Kumar Layam, Director of Robin Singh Cricket Foundation, welcomed the gathering and spoke on the occasion. This is part of his cricket initiative which he started when he teamed up with his close friend Robin Singh way back in 2005 is USA. Their mission is to introduce the game to a whole new generation of Indo-Canadians and also to start high performance and endurance Cricket camps and Cricket Clinics in GTA in coming years

Bhanu Musunuru Read out the profile of Robin Singh and out lined the immense contributions of Robin Singh as player and coach.

Surrounded by loving fans, the audience was treated to an audio video presentation of some of Robin Singh many glorious Cricketing moments on the field as Arun Kumar alerted the young budding cricketers to watch subtle plays on the field and the coaching tips regarding fielding and fitness.

The presentation was followed by a speech by Dipika Damerla, MPP Mississauga, Cooksville. She welcomed Robin Singh to Ontario and talked about how his contribution is important to the youth of Canada not only in the field of cricket but outside the game as well.She spoke about Robin Singh on his exemplary attitude as a sportsman and said it should be adopted by today’s generation kids not only on the field but in any area of their life in order to be successful.

She joined Robin is praising the women who support the men to play the game by taking care of kids and family when the players spend lot of time playing the game of Cricket.

Gangadhar Sukhavasi and Chari Samanthapudi of Telugu Alliances of Canada felicitated robin Singh.

Robin Singh addressed the gathering and spoke in detail about his approach, his instincts in Cricket and his role models in Cricket.

Robin’s motto has always been “Never focus on the result, just focus fearlessly on the task ahead of you and trust yourself and your plan and you will succeed “. His style and attitude towards cricket is the same as the way he faces life – fearlessly and head on.  Robin emphasized that “you must face it fearlessly and aim high for success”.  Robin also spoke in length about the fitness and how better fitness will helps you to perform at highest level.

During the question answer session, Robin stressed that importance of attitude which is important in Cricket and the fact that you have to have focus, determination and dedication to the game and one must forget about any politics or ego issues that invariably creep in.

Robin said he admired his wife for staying by his side and being his best friend and critic and who helped see cricket from the Indian perspective as he had grown up playing in West Indies and approached the game from a different angle at first.

When asked about his role model, Robin mentioned the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Vivian Richards, Andy Roberts and Kapil Dev and made special mention of Sachin Tendulkar with the way he approaches the game of Cricket. He also attributed his success not to one mentor but to many great cricketers and his two uncles.

Robin Singh tirelessly works and devotes his time to getting Canada and the US back into cricket as a serious sport for the youth and we are just beginning to see great positive results on the field.

Robin Singh presented Memento to Gokul Kamat for his help and services to Robin Cricket Foundation.

The evening ended with three lucky members of the audience received personally autographed memorabilia by Robin Singh.
