On a day it got votes, AAP got least money

New Delhi: The AAP polled millions of votes in the Delhi election Saturday but it was also the day when it got the least amount of cash donations in nearly a fortnight.

According to the Aam Aadmi Party web site, the donations totalled just Rs.2,91,104 Saturday.

But it was a day when, to go by exit polls, the AAP polled millions of votes and could well form the next government in Delhi.

The AAP never got anything less than Rs.31 lakhs on any day since Jan 25 except Feb 6, a day before the Delhi election, when donations totalled only Rs.10,31,751.

The AAP collected Rs.33,36,574 on Jan 25, Rs.31,23,500 on Jan 26, Rs.39,77,354 on Jan 27, Rs.31,15,561 on Jan 28, Rs.33,34,430 on Jan 29 and Rs.82,08,931 on Jan 30.

The collections zoomed to Rs.1,17,99,058 on Jan 31 before falling to Rs.36,49,090 on Feb 1.

It was Rs.58,01,293 on Feb 2, Rs.81,20,825 on Feb 3, Rs.77,80,504 on Feb 4 and Rs.55,03,939 on Feb 5.

It is not clear why the donation fell to Rs.2,91,104 Saturday.
