'Municipal Commissioners' up in arms against Narayana

'Municipal Commissioners' up in arms against Narayana

All 60 out of 105 'Municipal Commissioners' of the State of Andhra Pradesh who attended the general body meeting of the ‘Municipal Commissioners Association of AP’ expressed their displeasure with the style of functioning of Municipal Minister, Narayana.

They even threatened to go on an agitation if the Minister failed to mend his ways.

The Commissioners unanimously said that that the Minister was treating them with scant respect.

“He does not have administrative experience and cannot understand some of the practical problems we face. He is in the habit of convening conferences on ‘mobile phones’ at short notice. These take place quite frequently and go on for hours. And then he complains that we are not working at the ground level. What work can we do if we are caught up with endless hours of meetings?” said one Commissioner.

What the Municipal Minister should understand is that the Municipal Commissioners are highly qualified and educated employees.

They cannot be treated like menial staff or else he will risk losing his prestige in public like in the above instance.
