Padma Priya, the estranged wife of Kodela Sivaramakrishna, son of AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, on Wednesday moved the Hyderabad High Court by filing a habeas corpus petition seeking a direction to Visakhapatnam city police to produce her son before the court.
Police registered a case under sections 498 A (harassment), 363 (kidnapping) and 441 (trespassing) of IPC.
She alleged that despite registering the case, police had not taken any steps to rescue her kidnapped son.
She also told the court that police desisted from including the name of SHO Mallikarjun Rao, the police officer who accompanied her husband while taking away her son, in her complaint.
