KCR Juggernaut Rolls On: TRS Set To Capture Palair

The juggernaut of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao continues to roll on, decimating the Opposition parties. It has once again been proved in Palair by-elections.

The TRS is all set wrest the Palair assembly seat from the Congress, demolishing the sympathy factor. According to latest reports, TRS candidate and Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao has gained a majority of 23,000 votes at the end of the sixth round over his nearest rival R Sucharita Reddy of the Congress, who was backed by the Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress party.

The majority is expected to cross 50,000 votes, if the trends are any indication. CPI-backed CPI (M) candidate P Sudarshan Rao, another major contender, is likely to lose his deposit.

The Congress tried to cash in on the sympathy wave created due to the sudden demise of its sitting MLA R Venkat Reddy, while the TRS depended on the development plank to wrest the seat from the Congress.
