YSR Congress party MLAs, who have lost a golden opportunity in grilling the ruling Telugu Desam Party in the Andhra Pradesh assembly, now seem to be regretting for boycotting the sessions on the pretext of not disqualifying the defected MLAs.
Day in and day out, it was TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu who has been hijacking the assembly proceedings to boast about his achievements in the combined state and attacking the Centre and the Opposition parties.
The four BJP MLAs have not been able to do anything, as they were part of the TDP government till date and they are only giving vent to their opinions outside the House.
“We don’t know why the YSRC MLAs have abstained from the House. We are unable to bear Naidu’s daily harassment,” BJP MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju said.
YSRCP MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy said Naidu had converted the assembly into a never-ending press conference.
Describing it as Chandranna Sutti, he said several issues of public concern like loan waiver, unemployment allowance etc. have been relegated to the background.
“In the past, every resolution moved by the YSRC was rejected and its resolution on special category status was never allowed. But, the same government is now discussing the same issue for hours together,” Reddy pointed out.
