CRDA Commissioner Throws A Bomb

Only the day before yesterday, Chandrababu Naidu said that the law and order situation in Hyderabad was very bad and Governor needed to be given control over law and order.

But today, deposing before the National Green Tribunal, Commissioner of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), Srikanth in a deposition said that, “Nowhere in the Act, 2014, it is stated that Hyderabad would remain a capital for both the states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for a period of 10 years and after expiry of which there would be a new capital for AP.”

The CRDA chief said that Section 5 of the Act only contemplates that Hyderabad would be the common capital for both the states for a period not exceeding 10 years.

He explained that AP is facing day-to-day problems in providing effective governance from Hyderabad and therefore wants to shift all the government departments to the capital city area as soon as possible.

Srikanth slammed the petitioner for trying to delay the shift of the government to the capital city area. If the TRS were to seize on this statement of Srikanth, it could result in a  major embarrassment for Naidu.
