Bellary Brothers Back In BJP Fold

Bellary Brothers Back In BJP Fold

The BSR Congress led by former minister B Sriramulu is all set to be merged with the BJP. This was announced by Sriramulu, who had launched the party following a split with the BJP about a year ago, while addressing reporters after a meeting with party workers in Bellary on Wednesday.

Sriramulu was a minister in the BS Yeddyurappa government and split to form the BSR Congress following the arrest of his political mentor and mining baron G Janardhan Reddy.

Yeddyurappa too, split from the BJP to form the KJP following his arrest by the Lokayukta police. With this, all the Reddy brothers including G Janardhan Reddy, are back with the BJP.

Karunakar Reddy the third brother, never left BJP.

Sriramulu said the decision was taken to ensure the BJP wins the Lok Sabha elections and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi becomes the prime minister.

Sriramulu said as per his astrologer’s suggestions, he put his self-respect aside, in view of development of the country, and approached the BJP, seeking the merger. He said the senior leaders including Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari, State leaders Jagadish Shettar and others have agreed for the merger.

In Bangalore, former chief minister Jagadish Shettar said the Bellary seat would be offered to Sriramulu once the merger process is completed. The BSR Congress had four members in the Assembly. Post merger the strength of the BJP in the assembly would increase to 48.
