1st Telugu To Receive Afghanistan's Honor

1st Telugu To Receive Afghanistan's Honor

Afghanistan, the war stricken country is popularly known for daily blasts, notorious Talibans and the deserted open lands with hardly no tourists around.

Who dares to step into that country with an idea to spread peace and educate the youth not to get into extremism?

The idea itself is fatal as it attracts the attention of the weapons of Talibans. But, an Indian Singer who happens to be hailing from the land of Telugus stepped into Kabul and released his Afghan album on peace "Salam-Bogo" and received recognition from the government authorities of Afghanistan. He is none other than Dr Ghazal Srinivas.

Dr. Ghazal Srinivas, the Triple Guinness World Record Holder, is now honored with a prestigious “Afghanistan Olympic Peace Medal” by the Afghan Olympic Association President Mr. Mohammad Zahir Aghbar during his Shanthi Yathra at Kabul, Afghanistan.

This proves to be the first of its kind recognition for a Telugu person and to be precise an Indian.

Mr. Mohammad Zahir Aghbar on this occasion says, "Dr. Ghazal Srinivas is an exponent singer not only in his native language but he moved the hearts of many Afghans by singing in our Dari and Phasto languages. His album Salam-Bogo is a step towards Indo-Afghan friendship and international peace. We confer Dr Ghazal Srinivas with our first Olympic Peace Medal".

In a program held at Indian Embassy, Kabul, Dr. Ghazal Srinivas' Audio Album “Salam-Bogo” was launched by Indian Ambassador Manpreeth Vohra and the video songs of the same album were launched by Afghanistan's Health Minister Dr. Firozuddin Firoz. Popular Afghan writer Fhazalhadi Kafphsani, Olympic Association Secretary Dr. Yunus, Afghanistan Buzkashi President Dr. Akthari and Maiwand Bank Chairman Sri PVV Ramaraju have graced the function.

In another occasion of Youth Cinema Council Celebrations, Afghanistan's popular actor Saleem Shahin felicitated Dr.Ghazal Srinivas with “Global Peace Award” for his album “Salam-Bogo”.

Greatandhra.com considers it as a pride of Telugu fraternity and congratulates Dr Ghazal Srinivas for transcending the national boundaries and spreading the rays of peace and love. We also appeal to Indian government to consider Dr Ghazal Srinivas for an appropriate honor for his bold contribution of his art towards international peace.
