YSRC Gives Rude shock to BJP and TDP!

All these days, the Telugu Desam Party leaders, headed by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, have been shouting from roof tops that the YSR Congress party was a puppet in the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party and was dancing to the latter’s tunes in attacking the ruling TDP.

But on Tuesday, YSRC gave a strong counter to the TDP to negate its malicious propaganda and also a rude shock to the BJP, which has been trying to cash in on the rivalry between the two political parties.

Senior YSRC leader and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy announced that his party would not support the BJP in the forthcoming elections to Rajya Sabha deputy chairman post.

“We are not going to vote for the BJP. Even if the other pro-BJP parties field their candidates, the YSRC will not support them. We strongly feel that the BJP has betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh and so, there is no question of support it or its friendly parties,” Sai Reddy said.

The YSRC supported the BJP in the elections to President and Vice-President posts and also on other issues like triple talaq, demonetisation and GST.

The proximity of the BJP leaders, particularly Sai Reddy with the Prime Minister and other BJP leaders gave rise to suspicion that the YSRC has a tacit understanding with the BJP. And the TDP has been exploiting the same all these days.

Recently, YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy also made it clear that there was no question of forging any alliance with any party and that his party would go it alone in the next elections.

Now, with Sai Reddy declaring that the party MPs would not vote for BJP in RS deputy chairman elections, the party is expected to overcome the negative impact of the TDP campaign to a large extent.
