YSRC gives clarity on alliance with BJP

The YSR Congress party, which has been on the defensive over the allegations being made by ruling Telugu Desam Party all these days that the former has a secret understanding with the Bharatiya Janata Party, has given up its tentativeness finally.

On Monday, YSRC MPs have clarified that there would be no alliance with the BJP whatsoever in the next elections.

“We are going it alone in the next elections and there will be no alliance with any party, let alone the BJP,” former YSRC MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said.

“The TDP has been making baseless allegations against us in this regard,” he said.

Another former MP P Mithun Reddy said the YSRC was of the firm view that both the BJP and the TDP had cheated the people of the state on the special category status issue.

“We hold both the parties equally responsible for not implementing the promises made in AP bifurcation act. We shall expose the betrayal of the BJP and the TDP in the next elections,” he said.

In an interview to a national English daily last week, YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy also clarified that the party was capable of fighting alone and there was no need to have any alliances with any party.

Reacting to the allegations of TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu that the BJP was firing at the TDP from the shoulders of the YSRC and Jana Sena Party (headed by actor Pawan Kalyan), Jagan pointed out that it was Naidu who had sailed with the BJP all these years and was still having a secret part with it.

“The fact that Naidu had appointed wife of a BJP minister of Maharashtra as the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board member and is continuing husband of central minister Nirmala Sitaraman as his communication advisor itself indicates Naidu is still cosying up with the BJP.

Everybody has seen how Naidu went head over heels before Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as was evident from his body language. Does it not show how Naidu is still hobnobbing with the BJP?” he asked.
