Will TRS Offer Deputy Mayor Post To A Seemandhra Settler?

Will TRS Offer Deputy Mayor Post To A Seemandhra Settler?

The GHMC election campaign is entirely revolving under Seemandhra settlers issue. Starting from ruling TRS to Opposition Congress, TDP, BJP, everyone is raking up settlers issue to seek votes.

This is because Seemandhra settlers living in Hyderabad play a decisive role in determining who wins GHMC polls.

Seemandhra settlers can make or mar the prospects of any political party in more than half of the total 150 GHMC divisions.

All the parties are trying to get closer to Seemandhra settlers and vying with each other in making statements that Seemandhra settlers would be safe and secure in Hyderabad, only if this party and that party wins GHMC elections.

The ruling TRS, which was known to be the enemy of Seemandhra settlers in Hyderabad is too in the race to get closer to them.

KCR's son and IT minister K.T.Rama Rao has been repeatedly claiming in all election meetings and media interviews that he himself is a 'settler' in Hyderabad, who migrated from Medak to Hyderabad and seeking votes for TRS assuring safety and security for settlers.

The TDP-BJP combine and Congress have already announced to offer Deputy Mayor post to Seemandhra settlers, if they win the GHMC elections.

But TRS is yet to make an announcement in this regard, which now became a weapon in the hands of Opposition parties.

BJP floor leader in Assembly and city MLA Laxman has put TRS in a fix by making an open challenge that if TRS really had that much love and concern for Seemandhra settlers in Hyderabad, then it should offer Deputy Mayor post for a Seemandhra settler.

However, the TRS has been maintaining a complete silence on this challenge.

Opposition parties are now planning to make this an election issue and campaign extensively among Seemandhra settlers saying that the TRS love for Seemandhra settlers was only to garner their votes and TRS lacked sincerity and commitment towards them.
